Highlights from the 71st Annual American College of Rheumatology - A Continuing Education Series

Welcome to the The 71st Annual American College of Rheumatology Meeting Highlights: a Continuing Education Series, an integrated educational series that will allow rheumatologists and related healthcare professionals to access a variety of media and tools developed specifically to highlight key data from the 2007 ACR meeting and incorporate it into various formats and media. The series will provide information on the latest research on the use of biologics and other novel therapies in the management of rheumatic diseases as discussed at the 71st Annual ACR Meeting held in Boston, MA.

After successful completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss important new findings presented at the annual 2007 ACR meeting.
  • Assess how biologics and other novel therapies can be incorporated into appropriate rheumatic disease management strategies based on their different mechanisms of actions, response rates, frequency of administrations and safety and tolerability profiles.
  • Recognize the long-term implications of these therapies on joint preservation, cardiovascular complications and other risk factors.
