Help for RA patients with no money

I have a friend that is in very bad shape because his insurance co. refuses to pay for his medication of Enbrel. He does not make enough money to pay his bills and get the shots. It is very costly and I for one do not have the money to help him. He has searched high and low with the help of many people including his physicians and nurses. Is there any organization that helps low income patients with their medication that they need to function on a daily basis? |

Make sure that you explore all the patient assistance programs for all the drugs similar to Enbrel. Enbrel (Amgen), Humira (Abbott) and Remicade (Centecor) all have programs, many of which are quite generous. The company names are in parentheses. You might explore the possibility of participating in a clinical trial of one of the newer drugs. A website called Centerwatch might help with this. |
