Arava and Celebrex in the treatment of RA and Polychondritis

Question  Is Arava along with Celebrex (no prednisone ) effective for treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis/ Relapsing Polychondritis

Answer  Arava has been shown in controlled randomized clinical trials to be effective for treatment of RA.  Remember, though, that no one medication is effective in everyone. One has to try it to see if that individual will be responsive.  There are no clinical trials for any medication for the treatment of relapsing polychondritis.  That is truly a hit and miss approach, although steroids are often effective.
