Thumb arthritis and hyaluronic acid injections

I have severe osteo in my body. My right thumb joints are bone on bone. I have had several injections but with no help. Can the rooster cone injections help or is there another alternative to surgery? That is my next treatment option the doctor says. |

HI Gail, Usually once there is progression of arthritis to bone-on-bone, surgery is the most effective treatment. Injections of hyaluronic acid are of limited value in bone-on-bone, end-stage joints. Plus, most of the injections are in doses more appropriate for the big joints (knees, for example). Good luck !! |
