Negative reactions to Synvisc?

Question  Dr. advising Synvisc injection to hip. Any studies/stats negative reactions in either hip or knee?

Answer  There are very few as Synvisc is not systemically absorbed. From the injections, there is a minimal risk of infections and bleeding. Of course there is pain from the injections. I have also had a few local reactions, with severe pain and swelling in the joint immediately after an injection, much like an attack of gout.
