Stroke risk with Raynaud's syndrome

Question  I've seen references to an increased risk of stroke in people with Raynaud's syndrome. In particular I see references to research by Frederick M. Wigley of Hopkins. Can you tell me about this and if there's anything that can be done to lower that risk?
 
Answer  I have also read Dr. Wigley's articles on this. To my knowledge, the level of increased risk is unclear. I also do not know if any specific therapy that has been shown to decrease the risk in patients with Raynauds. It makes sense however to pay attention blood preswsure control, cholesterol control and possibly use low dose aspirin. You might also talk to your doctor about testing for homocysteine levels.
