Question regarding referral
|
My doctor has referred me to Michelle Petri for what she believes is lupus, but in MY research, I found another physician at JH who specializes in Early UCTD which is my CURRENT diagnosis. Which one do you recommend I see? Also, my symptoms cover various specialties including dermatology and GI as well as rheumatology...should I expect Dr. Petri (or whomever I see) to cover all bases or will I be referred to another specialist if needed? Thank you in advance. I am trying to get an idea of what information I need to bring with me. |

It sounds like your diagnosis is unclear which is part of the reason why you were referred to Hopkins. Many times patients can be classified differently by different doctors. Bring all your records including bloodwork, biopsy reports, x-ray reports and x-rays themselves if they are important to your diagnosis. You will be referred to other specialists if necessary. |
