Not Sure If I Have Lupus

Question  Dear Expert,

For the last four years I've been getting fevers almost ever month of 102.7 to 105.3. The only thing my doctor ever tells me is it is a kidney infection. But sometime's I will get a rash on my face but it will come and go. I've been tested for everything except lupus. Is there a special test they do for lupus? What do they need to look for?

Help,

Answer  The ANA test is often done, as virtually all lupus patients have a positive test. If negative, lupus is generally ruled out. The best test is a visit to a rheumatologist.
