Lupus and Pregnancy

Question  What is the risk of a 26-year old female infected with lupus who is pregant to have the diease genetically passed on to her child?

Answer  Relatively low, so low that no specific monitoring is needed for your children unless they have symptoms. The exact risk is difficult to calculate and may in the range of 2 fold greater risk for your children, which although may sound high, is really not statistically.
