breast implants and lupus

Question  Is it okay for someone with lupus to get breast implants if they are in remission

Answer  Despite the controversies and litigation, there is no scientific evidence that definitively links silcone or saline breast implants with connective tissue or autoimmune diseases such as lupus. Having said that, stress such as surgical procedures can trigger lupus flares, so this must be factored into the assessment of risk and benefits of the procedure.
