patient with RA needing a knee replaced on remicad
I am 57 I have RA i am currently on the drugs remicade and methotrexate.. I need a total knee replacement I wanted to know how well other patients on these same drugs have done with a knee replacement |
It is not really known. There may be an increased risk of infection post-op with patients on Remicade and thus it seems prudent to stop the drug prior to surgery. How long to stop is debatable and how great the risk is not known-- see a recent question I answered for the plan I use in my practice. |
