Isolated enthesopathy in a patient with psoriasis
|
Are symptoms of upper extremity enthesopathy (exercise-induced forearm pain and local tenderness at tendinous insertion points) consistent with psoriatic enthesopathy in a patient with subtle manifestations of cutaneous psoriasis or are the two clinical problems unrelated? The patient has no clinical or radiological evidence of psoriatic arthritis. |

It difficult to provide an accurate answer without seeing the patient. In general, an isolated enthesopathy such as a tendinitis is llkely not related to psoriatic arthritis. Soft tissue problems such as tendinitis (epicondylitis, etc) is very common and most often related to overuse. You need to see more to make the diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis. |
