Zolendronic Acid and Osteoporosis

Inquiring about Zoledronic Acid. Is it FDA approved and can I ask my doctor and insurance about beginning this once yearly? I am 60 years of age and diagnosed with osteoporosis for about 5 years now. Currently taking Actonel once weekly. |

Yes, Reclast is now approved for treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. You can initiate a call to your insurance company to see if they will cover it. They may not as it is likely to be more expensive than Actonel, unless your doctor can prove that you are not responding to Actonel. Good luck. |
