NSAID effectiveness comparision
|
I have taken Naprosyn, Ibrofen, and then Vioxx, then Bextra for a very painful herniated disc at C5-6. Has anyone done studies on the effectiveness for pain of the old NSAIDS vs. the new NSAIDS. I had to stop taking the Vioxx and Bextra due to hypertension, and I'm now back on Ibuprofen. |

In groups of patients, the older NSAIDS are equally effective as the newer NSAIDS (including the COX-2 agents). Remember that there is often a great deal of variability in individual patients. |
