can statin drugs cause dermatomyositis
Can a statin drug like crestor cause dermatomyositis? If so, will the discontinuation of the statin drug able the body to return to normal? |
Statins can cause inflammation in the muscle called myositis. This is very different than the specific disease dermatomyositis. The myositis caused by statins is a direct toxic effect of the statins on the muscle cells and resolves when the statins are stopped. |
