RA and early morning stiffness

Question  Joint stiffness is described as an almost universal symtpom of RA, but can RA occur without significant morning stiffness, especially early in the course of the illness?  Thank you.

Answer  While RA is a systemic illness with many extra-articular features, clinical RA does not typically occur in the absence of joint findings (i.e. stiffness and swelling)
