Effect of Humira and Methotrexate on Lungs

Question  I have been taking Methotrexate 20mg for several years. In 2004, Humira was added to my treatment. Now 1 year later, I have a lesion in my left lung, (soon to be biopsied). Is it likely that this was caused by the humira?

Answer  It all depends on what this "lesion" is. Humira and the other TNF inhibitors have not been associated with solid tumors like lung cancer. There have been reported cases of lymphoma, but since lymphoma risk can be increased in severe RA, it is unclear if the TNF inhibitors increase the risk. Infections can be increased with Humira and the other TNF drugs.
