Prednisone's affect on SED rate

Question  I just had blood work done at the request of my hand surgeon. I have been taking 5 mg prednisone every other day for pain in my wrist for a couple weeks (different doctor prescribed it). Will that affect the SED rate results?

Answer  Although prednisone can decrease the sed rate, the dose you are taking is so low, I think it is unlikely that it will have much effect.
