The affect of Rheumatoid Arthritis on quality of life

Question  I have just started dating someone. She told me she has RA. I basically knew nothing about it. I want to learn more now. My main question is how does having RA affect one's quality of life?

Answer  In cases of severe arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis can a big impact on quality of life.  Living with a chronic illness, particularly one that causes pain can be very tough.  But please be careful.  Every patient is different in terms of the severity of their arthritis, their response to medications and their approach to their disease.  There is also reason to be very optimistic with all the new therapies available.   You might try contacting your local Arthritis Foundation to see if there are programs you might attend.
