Can RA cause lost voice

Question  I have RA. I have lost my voice for over 10 days now. About 2 weeks before I lost my voice I had a 103 temp with some very bad days. I do not have a temp now or a cold that would cause voice lost.

Answer  RA can cause a hoarse voice due to inflammation in one of the small joints in the neck near the vocal cords. The joint is called the cricoarytenoid joint. But other causes of voice loss should be ruled out. If it persists, you should see an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist
