Re: polymyalgia rheumatica

I have Celiac's Disease and my aunt has Polymyalgia Rhuematica and I wondered if it could be an auto-immune disease side effect, in case she might have CD also. If it is possible that a gluten free diet might help her, please inform me. Thanks, |

Celiac Disease and polymyalgia rheuamatica are not associated. If your aunt truly has polymyalgia rheumatica, then a gluten free diet will be of no benefit. However, many patients with celiac disease can have joint and muscle pains that may mimic and be mistaken for various types of arthritis. |
