AST
I had a CBC and the AST was low what does this mean? |
CBC stands for "complete blood count". AST is a completely separate test. AST and ALT are liver enzymes that are elevated when there is damage to the liver such as liver problems due to medications, alcohol, gall bladder problems. A low AST has no clnical signficance. Basically, you can ignore it. |
