Title: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Parallel Group, International Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of Ocrelizumab Compared to Placebo in Patients with Active Rheumatoid Arthritis Who Have an Inadequate Response to at Least One Anti-TNF-α therapy
Purpose: To determine the safety and effectiveness of ocrelizumab versus placebo in reducing the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when used in combination with methotrexate or Arava™ either alone or in combination with other non-biologic DMARDs in patients with active RA who have an inadequate response to at least one anti-TNF-α therapy
Recruiting Patients:
- Men and women > 18 years of age with active rheumatoid arthritis with current use of methotrexate or leflunomide (Arava™)
Additional Info: This is a 96 week study that will involve a 48 week double-blind treatment period and a 48 week study extension period.

Title: A mechanism of action study to evaluate the effects of IL-6 receptor blockade with tocilizumab (TCZ) on lipids, arterial stiffness, and markers of atherogenic risk in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis.
Purpose: To determine the safety and effectiveness of tocilizumab versus placebo in reducing the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when used in combination with methotrexate and to also determine if a reduction in the signs and symptoms of RA also decreases cardiovascular risk.
Recruiting Patients:
- Men and women 18–75 years of age with active rheumatoid arthritis with current use of methotrexate.
Additional Info: This is a 104 week study that will involve a 24 week double-blind treatment period and an 80 week study extension period.

Title:Yoga and Arthritis Research Study
Purpose of Study: Yoga is an ancient and enjoyable form of physical activity that improves strength, balance, flexibility, stress management and relaxation. We want to learn if people with arthritis may benefit from yoga.
Recruiting patients:
- with arthritis(OA) in knee(s) or inflammatory arthritis (RA)
Additional Information:
- Yoga classes are held 2 times a week for 8 weeks at the JH Bayview Fitness Center
- Classes have been specifically designed for people with arthritis and are taught by an experienced Yoga teacher

Title: Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI): A Knee Health Study
Purpose of Study: The OAI is a nationwide research study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health that will help us better understand how to prevent and treat knee osteoarthritis.
Recruiting patients:
- Men and women who are 45 to 79 years old and have one or more of the following:
- overweight
- hand osteoarthritis (knobby fingers)
- knee pain during the past year (however, you don't have to have current knee pain to join)

Title: Psoriatic Arthritis Research Study
Purpose of this study: To determine if autoantibodies exist in patients with psoriatic arthritis.
Recruiting Patients: Patients with a clinical diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis and active skin lesions are eligible for participation.
The study requires one clinic visit during which the participant will be asked to provide two tubes of blood and undergo a skin biopsy. The blood will then be analyzed for the presence of autoantibodies and the skin will be used as a possible source of antigen.
You will receive $50.00 and a parking coupon for your participation.
