FDA Approves Once-Weekly Dosing of Etanercept

Etanercept (Enbrel^®) is now approved for use as a once-weekly 50mg dose for adult patients across all indications. Two 25 mg injections are now needed for this dosing schedule, however, a single 50 mg injection is currently under development.

Data supporting the efficacy of a weekly dosing were reported at Eular and demonstrated equivalence of once weekly and twice weekly dosing. (see Eular report)
