Abbott Provides Humira Free to Medicare Patients

Abbott Laboratories has stated that it will provide the recently approved arthritis medication, HumiraTM, free to Medicare patients who do not have perscription drug coverage until the government agrees to pay for the medicine. Humira is a TNF inhibitor and is approved for treatment in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Patients should speak with their rheumatologist if they have any questions about the Humira Medicare Access Program.

Additionally, Abbott has established the Humira Reimbursement Resource Center for physicians and their staff to assist in determining patients' eligibility and in securing appropriate coverage and/or reimbursement. Call 1-800-448-6472.
